From the Athens International Airport to the city center
Upon your arrival at the Athens International Airport, also known as Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, it’s about 30 km away from the city center. This means that, depending on the means of transportation you choose, you will need about 30 to 50 minutes to reach the Athens center.
Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) provides a direct connection from Athens International Airport to the city center. Trains run every 30 minutes, seven days a week, from approximately 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The travel time from the airport to Syntagma station (in the city center) is around 40 minutes. The ticket costs €9 and is valid for 90 minutes from the time of first validation.
There is a bus that connects central Athens (Syntagma Square) to the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”. This bus is called X95. Service is provided on a non-stop basis seven days a week (24/7 operation). It starts its route from the Arrivals Level between Exits 4 and 5 and arrives at its destination (Departures Level of the airport) in about an hour.
Tickets can be bought directly by the driver (with no extra cost), from the ticket kiosk at the bus departure area and from all the metro stations around Athens.
There is only a one-way ticket, which costs €6.
The taxi station is located outside Gate 3 at the Arrivals level. A taxi from the airport to the city center costs a flat rate (including luggage, VAT, and road tolls) of 40 Euros from 05:00 to 23:59, and 55 euros from 00:00 to 05:00 .
A private transfer can be arranged for your convenience upon your arrival. The driver will be waiting for you at the Arrival Hall keeping a sign with your name on it.
The cost of a pre-paid and pre-booked private transfer between Athens International Airport and appointed accommodation in the Athens city center or vice versa is 65.00 Euros per way (1-3 passengers).

Group Airport Transfers are available on request.
The group shuttle transfer rates are applicable to delegates travelling together on the same flight and staying at the same hotel, pre-booked and pre-paid. The transfer rates are per vehicle per way.

Transfers not paid for in full by 15 February 2026, will be cancelled automatically. These will need to be re-booked with full payment to secure the services.
